Friends of Bournes Green Infant School

The Parent Association is known as the ‘Friends of Bournes Green Infant School’.

The good news is, as soon as you join our school community you automatically become a member of our ‘Friends Association’!

The ‘Friends’ are a group of committed parents who provide valuable support by organising a varied calendar of fundraising and social events that are an important part of school life. Money raised is used to supply ‘extras’ to help enrich our children’s learning experiences.

What Do The ‘Friends’ Do?

We raise money by hosting a wide range of events and activities throughout the year; including:

  • Sponsored Bounce
  • Mother’s Day Sale
  • School Discos
  • The Parents’ Ball
  • Summer Fete
  • Christmas Fayre
  • Cake Sales
  • Non-Uniform Days

Most of our events are held for fundraising for the school and some are for a variety of charities. All of our events are well run and enjoyable for the children and local community alike.

Why Join Our ‘Friends’ & What Is Involved?

Recently, funds that have been raised have purchased a new reading scheme, new playground equipment, musical instruments, IT equipment and the re-development of our Early Years playground.

These would not have been possible without the assistance of our ‘Friends’ and parents who support all of our events.

The ‘Friends’ hold regular meetings to which all are invited; these are normally when an event is imminent. The times and dates of these meetings will be communicated to you via the school newsletter, which comes out every Friday, or by a text message.

We always require help when it comes to events, this can be from helping set up a cake sale, wrapping Santa’s Grotto presents to chaperoning the school discos!

Any help that can be given at or in the lead up to events is always hugely appreciated.

What Events Are Currently Planned?

A full list of our upcoming events are always available to view on our school website and are communicated via our weekly newsletters which are distributed on a Friday in the children’s book bags.

How Do We Get Involved Or In Contact?

The ‘Friends’ can be contacted via the school office, new ideas and an extra pair of hands are always welcome. We are always looking for new members and new ideas on how we could raise additional funds for the school. We are proud to say that all of our events are very well supported by children, parents and staff. We are aware that we are fortunate to have this level of support in our school

We are always looking for new members to join us, and would love to see more of you at our ‘Friends Meetings’ in the future.
