Sports and PE Grant
We have received the sum of £8924.04in 2016-17 to develop physical education and sporting activities. (See below for breakdown)
Our vision is for all children leaving our school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport. We aim to achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of PE and sport in Bournes Green Infant School.
The staff of Bournes Green Infant School are using part of the Sport Premium funding to subscribe to support from the Southend School Sports Partnership, Active Soccer & Sport Academy and private consultants. This includes allowing our staff and children to benefit from additional festivals and sports competitions.
Staff are benefitting from a range of professional development and training opportunities, including access to sports courses. This is especially important to ensure the funding has a lasting impact on developing the skills of the teachers and teaching assistants in our school
School are planning to use the Sport Premium to meet the following outcomes:
Improve the provision and quality of teaching of Physical Education & School Sport at Bournes Green Infant School by accessing professional development, resources and equipment
Ensure that Physical Education & School Sport is judged as at least good by external monitoring
Broaden the sporting opportunities and experiences available to children.
To develop a passion for sport and physical activity
Enable children to compete alongside like schools in a variety of sports activities and festivals
Children at Bournes Green Infant School are able to participate in a wide range of sporting competitions that are set up and run by Southend School Sports Partnership.
As a result the quality of teaching of Physical Education & School Sport at Bournes Green Infant School has improved.
Our gymnastics lessons have been judged as at least good and many outstanding, by external monitoring.
We have been able to broaden the sporting opportunities and experiences available to children. They compete alongside schools in a variety of sports activities and festivals.
We continue to encourage out children to develop a passion for sport and physical activity.
