Welcome to Bournes Green Infant School. Our school was opened in 1972 and is an unusual and attractive open-plan design with three double units opening from a central hall.

We are situated in a residential area, very near to a busy and popular seaside resort, Southend-on-Sea, on the River Thames estuary.

In the grounds of the school we have lots of tall trees and grassed areas, a playground, a swimming pool and a fantastic wooden adventure playground.

We have 180 children on roll, aged from 4 to 7 years and our classes are arranged as follows:-

Two parallel Year 2 classes - ages 6 and 7 Blue and Red Units

Two parallel Year 1 classes - ages 5 and 6 Green and Yellow Units

Two parallel Reception classes - ages 4 and 5 Orange and Purple Units

All children join the school in September at the start of the school year in which they are 5 and spend 3 years here before moving to the junior school which is just next door!
